Upcoming opportunities to volunteer for our Rotary Clubs in Richmond:
Sat. Dec. 3 – Vive Richmond- Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset
Taking place within the several weeks that the Winter Wonderland display will be up at City Hall, Vive Richmond, a wine-tasting event will take place on December 3rd. This event’s program includes Chef Shane Lamb of Vancouver Airport Marriott will be preparing hot and cold appetizers, fantastic auction items, door prizes, and raffle. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go toward Vancouver Sun “Raise-A-Reader” Program Rotary International’s”End Polio Now ” a Richmond Senior’s Christmas & Easter Programs. Richmond Christmas Funds.
We are involved with helping the Rotary Club with setting up for the event as well as at the actual event (selling raffle tickets, helping with the Auction etc.)
When: Set-up begins as early as 2:30p but most help is probably needed starting 5:30p

Thurs. Dec. 8, 2011 – BE A SANTA – DRIVE THRU AND DONATE – Supported by the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunrise
On December 8, BE A SANTA – DRIVE THRU AND DONATE, co-presented event with the Delta Airport Vancouver (Richmond) and the Richmond Christmas Fund, will provide Richmond businesses and residents with a unique drive-thru, commuter friendly opportunity to donate to the Richmond Christmas Fund.
The method: drive-thru drop off at the Delta Airport Vancouver (Richmond) serving complimentary refreshments for donors.
The Rotary Club of Richmond Sunrise will be volunteering at this event and has asked for our support as well!
What: Our main task is to direct interested drivers to the Drive-Thru using signs (provided). We will also be provided with vests.
Where: Delta Airport Vancouver Hotel (3500 Cessna Drive; http://g.co/maps/m8wa7 )
When: The fun starts at 5:45 AM for those inclined (breakfast will be provided by the hotel)! Yes I know that’s super early so there’s another option of sleeping in and coming at 6:45a. Coffee and snacks (i.e. muffins) will still be available at that time. The event will end at 9:00am but you can leave after 8:00am according to your schedule.
YES, THIS EVENT IS SUPER EARLY! BUT IT’S GOING TOWARD A GREAT CAUSE TO MAKE CHRISTMAS A HAPPIER CELEBRATION FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN RICHMOND. SO PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING THIS A REALITY AND HELPING OUT AT THIS EVENT!
